Help/Support Insider Premium

What are the new products available to Insider Premium subscribers as of October, 2016?

We launched two new products that are accessible exclusively to Insider Premium subscribers.

  • Insider Conversations are monthly meetings, accessible by Web or phone, that allow Insider Premium subscribers “into the room” while our editors interview innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders about what matters most today (and tomorrow) in the world of technology. And not just as a fly on the wall: members can submit questions in advance by e-mailing insiderconversations@technologyreview.com, or take part in the live conversation. For members who are unable to log in, the sessions will be recorded and archived at www.technologyreview.com/insider-conversations so you can listen at a time that’s convenient for you.

  • First Look provides online access to selected MIT Technology Review stories before they are made available to the public. We’ll send weekly e-mails where you can read stories early in their entirety, and they’ll have a link for members to read online as well. You need to be logged in to view First Look stories online.

How do I join an Insider Conversation?

Prior to each Insider Conversation, we’ll send an e-mail to Insider Premium subscribers containing the URL, phone number, and meeting ID that you’ll need to join the conversation.

Please note: The website and call-in number are unique to each session.

If you need us to re-send the e-mail, let us know by e-mailing insiderconversations@technologyreview.com and we’ll get you set up.

To join via the Web:

  1. Click on the URL link in the e-mail you received about the specific Insider Conversation you wish to join.

  2. Enter your name and e-mail address in the fields provided and join the meeting, and enter the access code if prompted.

  3. Follow the instructions in your browser to allow WebEx to run (the steps vary for each browser).

  4. Once you have joined, select how you would like to connect your audio, using the first phone icon at the bottom of the screen. You may opt to have the meeting call you, you can dial in using your phone, or you can join using your computer’s audio.

  5. Please mute your microphone when you connect so the conversation is not disrupted by background noise. We will invite participants to unmute themselves to ask questions and participate during a specified segment of the conversation. You may also submit questions or comments to the hosts using the chat feature.

To join by phone:

  1. When the session is live, dial the phone number provided in the e-mail.

  2. Enter the access code followed by the # key.

  3. Press # to enter the meeting. You may be prompted to enter your attendee ID number, which is not required.

  4. Please mute your phone’s microphone when you call in so the conversation is not disrupted by background noise. We will invite participants to unmute themselves to ask questions or participate during a specified segment of the conversation.

  5. If you get a message that says your meeting number is invalid, make sure that you have entered it correctly. If you have and you get the same message, that indicates the session has not started yet, or that it has ended.
